Introduction
The Field of Screams is just the place for people who love being immersed in horror. While I was there for hospitality night, I was stunned by how incredible the actors and the owners of the field of screams were.
After you wait in line to get your tickets, or media pass in my case, you walk down the gravel road. You see the hearse parked to the right. The entrance is clear: Field of Screams. You can see the skeletons in the bushes along with two goblets on opposite sides with flames reaching out into the air. There stood three creatures. A clown with paint running down its face. The other was a creepy creature with torn clothes. You see a clown chasing another person into a corner as she screams. They have axe throwing, escape rooms, and the scream shop.
Field Of Screams attractions
There are four major attractions at Field of Screams. The first listed is the haunted hayride, a 25-minute ride filled with scary sites.
They first encounter the pigs and farmers. When I was there, a guy with a shotgun came out of the farmhouse and told us to get off his lawn. He proceeded to shoot the shotgun into the air.
In the next part, we encountered the shade facility with many crazed mutants. Most of the attractions on the hayride close their doors upon your entrance. The crazed mutants will surround you.
The next is the den of darkness. You’ll be escorted through a completely dark abyss with creatures as your company. The scent of burning bodies and cigarettes becomes more apparent without your vision.
The next attraction is the Frightmare Asylum. You first enter into complete mayhem, where only the terrified screams of prisoners can be heard. TV’s blaring quickly enters your ears as you quickly move to the next area you start to see the patients in the recreation room. They begin to yell at you and tell you they want you to remain here forever. Throughout your journey, you will find more terrifying and horrid things appearing.
The Nocturnal Wasteland concludes the hayride. As you go through the woods, you begin to see an abandoned ice cream truck and an eerie music place as a driver welcomes you and as you go through your journey, many terrifying things go on. You will see a town and an airplane and discover the horrors of a nocturnal wasteland. Through these four attractions, FOS has been known as one of the most terrifying attractions in Pennsylvania, and in my personal opinion, it is the scariest.
Asylum
The first place I went to was the asylum. it begins with complete mayhem. I stumbled into seeing a doctor with a patient screaming, “Please help me.” Another nurse behind me brushes my shoulder. Screams erupted from me and the people around me as we made our way through. There are many TVs blaring as you quickly move to the next area, then you start to see the patients in the recreation room. They begin to yell at you and tell you they want you to remain here forever. Their pleading cries, come from the victims of the dentist.
As you run for your life, you enter a bathroom, which looks disgusting as one would think. Whether it be blamed on the mysterious-looking fluid or the dirt in the room; both were unsavory, to say the least.
When you escape this, there are many more terrifying things, for example, the experimental lab and the children’s ward. In the experimental lab, they have a toso being sawed into while the doctor says he wants to experiment on you too.
There is a psychotherapy room. The one thing that horrified me the most wasn’t the inmates that spooked me but it was the thick passageway full of what felt like a bouncy house wall closing in. It felt like I was suffocating. The walls were tight and it was hard to walk through.
The second thing I remember the most about this was the flashing lights and screaming. As you wander throughout it gets very hard to see due to the flashing lights. This was a terrific attraction and very great actors who horrified me very much. Later during my walk around, I saw some of the actors chasing the other guests out of the asylum.
Hayride
The haunted hayride was the second most terrifying attraction I went on. The first thing one will encounter is the bloodthirsty pigs and farmers. One of which will shoot a shotgun into the air. Once we make it through that then you go to the S.H.A.D.E facility where once you enter you will have the doors of the building close at the ends. You will be trapped with the mutants as they climb onto the hayride to scare you witless.
Once you make it through that you will go through a few more frights than it’s the horrifying clown area. I was already paralyzed with fear. Once we were locked in they jumped onto the hayride and screamed at us.
While I was there an actor who was a young lady patted me on the shoulder to comfort me as I was physically curled up into a ball.
After this place, you will find yourself in the cannibal rednecks who have bodies and other horrors around moving.
The next area is the crazy execution who wants to execute someone. The gentleman next to claims he volunteers and the executor roared, “We don’t take volunteers!” As we continued I heard screaming and felt something touch my back. I am sitting curled into a ball. It was the most petrifying hayride ever. During one of the attractions, we heard the chainsaws, and some including myself were hit by the chainsaw. As everyone screamed and eventually the doors opened and we were off to the end of the haunted hayride.
Den of Darkness
When you are there you will be escorted through a completely dark place and some creatures are there with you. There are many different smells for example burning bodies and cigarettes. There are buzzing flies which you hear very loudly. You will hear horrifying screams. The occupants of this sinister estate will leave you very little room to escape.
Nocturnal Wasteland
The first place you will encounter is an ice cream truck and then there will be creatures everywhere. The will be a piece of eerie music playing as a driver welcomes you. After this, you will find many different creatures along with seeing an airplane and discover more about the wonderous area of Nocturnal Wasteland
Conclusion
In conclusion, this was the scariest experience ever. I was utterly impressed with the decorations that made you feel you were there. It made you feel immersed completely. The actors were terrific with their acting. They scared almost everyone there. I was one of the most scared people! The owners I met were polite and the staff at the scream shop were very polite and helpful. I would recommend if you love immersive horror then this is the best place to go.
