Wilson Fall Sport Wrap-Up
As the leaves fall and the temperatures start to drop, Wilson’s fall sports season is wrapping up. The results across all of the sports have been nothing short of exceptional. From cross-country trails to the gridiron, the bulldogs have clearly displayed commitment to continuing the school’s legacy in excelling in sports, setting the stage for some to have the opportunity for postseason play.
Football: The path to the postseason
The Wilson Bulldogs have once again proven to be a powerhouse in the league, assisted by a dynamic defense that shut down key opponents and a balanced offensive attack able to control the clock. Coach Doug Dahms credits the seniors heavily, stating, “The seniors’ leadership helped to maintain focus through a demanding schedule”. The Wilson Bulldogs would play William Penn at home as their first playoff game with a score of 28-14. The Bulldogs would take the win; however, a week later, while on the road at Central York, the Bulldogs would lose 42-7 to the Panthers, leading to the end of the season.
Soccer success: Boys & Girls
The Wilson Girls’ soccer team was nearly unstoppable in league play, largely thanks to their lockdown goal keeper who reported an impressive number of shutouts. They would enter the postseason as one of the favorites; however, they would fall short to Mechanicsburg with a score of 0-1, ending off with an incredible season.
The Wilson boys’ soccer team had a very incredible season, going 15-9 throughout the season and finishing 1st in their conference. However, the season would sadly end playing against Central Dauphin with a score of 1-2.
That concludes the Wilson fall season sport wrap, finishing off with an excellent beginning of the year for the school’s athletics programs.
